Wedding Card Messages

The library in the kitchen.

Yesterday I spent a delightful day here, where I had an appointment with a friend for lunch. Or rather for a salad ... not excellent, but served from the infinite kindness of the waiters and the serene magic seven-story library!
What I brought home? It 'was a nice raid! I replenished a bit 'my kitchen library, already pretty crammed and overflowing ... but how can you resist? I then will not even try!
Last night I just peeled them, then I'll tell you a few impressions.

Michele Cranston, Rustic Kitchen, Luxury Book, E. 32.00
It 's the first one I spotted ... and, for now, I find it beautiful. For photos, beautiful, of course, but especially for the design of a cuisine based on ingredients and ingredients. And that is a kitchen that little mess, little or no means wants to cover up the natural flavors. A kitchen respectful of the goodness of simple food and genuine, but certainly not poor and tasteless. From A drowning hazelnuts to Z of coconut and pumpkin soup, more than 200 pages of really interesting recipes. Marie Claire suggests, those who have read Kitchen knows that it's worth it.

Laurel Evans, Enjoy America, Guido Tommasi Editore, E.25
an American living in Italy for many years, Laurel Evans takes us on the path of the traditional food for notalgia of his country. Burgers, pumpkin pie and hot dogs? Yes, of course, but there's more. There is the food of Cajun Louisiana, the New England Clam Cowder, secrets for a perfect brunch, a barbecue doc, etc. Thanksgiving specials. Appear on each page short texts of famous songs, "Made in USA of course, speaking of food ... by Mr. Robinson, by Simon and Garfunkel to Mermaid's Avenue of Woody Guthrie.

Paloma Jorge Amado and Jorge Amado, Bahia's cuisine, Einaudi, E. 11.80
I've always loved Amado. Even as a kid, enjoying the scents and flavors of the intense prose writer Bahia, cocoa to sweat, I read of the strength and beauty of the beautiful women, the smell of spices, the Pelourinho, and I fell in love with a country, Brazil, and especially the Northeast Brazil, which I then crossed passionately during a long voyage, many years ago. One month to dream, to Manaus Iguassu.
Paloma, the daughter of Jorge Amado, he joined his father in this fascinating book, rich in spices, songs and advice. All the recipes Bahian, refined dishes, sauces, flavored, food for the magic rites of Candomblé, Moquecas aphrodisiac sweets and cakes cooked by Dona Flor in person!

Joanne Glynn, low heat, Luxury Books, E.28
This is a book for Saturday and Sunday. A book for those who love to cook slowly, savoring scent, taste. No hurry. . To cook barefoot, with background music of a loved one, sipping red wine, smiling at those who drew near. Thick soup and fragrant, rich roast venison and poultry, swollen feet and Gold, stews and braised missed dessert. The photographs are fascinating, superb!

Trish Deseine, Happiness is served, Guido Tommasi Editore, E.25
Exactly the opposite of the above! And just as beautiful, interesting, rich! Here the cuisine is to those who work, have children, commitments and ... racing, is always in a hurry, but she loves eating, cooking and doing it well. How it works? Reviewing and streamlining the classic recipes or modern, first prepare, and adapt the kitchen to life and not vice versa.

Luca Roberto Montersino Sammartini, croissants and biscuits, Fabbri Editori, E.32
A classic of sweetness and goodness, combined with attention to health and intolerance. From primacolazione to tea, lots of recipes and techniques for turning out fragrant and nutritious biscuits, croissants veneers and crumbly, delicious cakes, pastries delicious. For genuine and healthy snacks for our children ... but for us too!

Knam Ernst, The Art of sweet, Mondadori, E. 23
still do not have?? Ouch, ouch, ouch! A beautiful book full of recipes, tips, techniques and tips. Refined sweet, special, curious, classics. Besides biscuits, mousse, chocolates, jams.
is not new, but a re-purchase for me. I had some time, but I got greedy with a friend yesterday and I took the opportunity to transmit a copy on the shelf.

I had a rich shopping, if you think that, in addition to these, I brought home a dozen books of fiction ... but the ones we talk again!
